Request a Treasure Box
Our aim is to provide hope, love, and support for families who are experiencing the difficult NICU journey with their newborns.
This is why we have put together a complimentary Treasure Box for parents of premature and sick babies who are currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Treasure Boxes contain items that encourage bonding between the parents and baby while recording memorable moments during the hospital stay.
Items in the Treasure Boxes include Bonding hearts to help parents bond with their little ones through smell. They are worn against the parents’ skin and placed in the baby’s incubator so the baby can have the parents’ smell. They also include the Octopus, which helps improve a premature baby’s breathing, regulates his/her heartbeat and blood oxygen levels, and makes the baby less likely to pull out the essential tubes and monitors. Some other items in the packages are healthy snacks, a NICU journal to document details of the journey and a heartfelt personalised note from our founder, Ola Adegbenro.
We are aiming to increase the number of hospitals we work with, and the number of families that we support. If you would like us to work with your local NICU, please do get in touch.
We’ve delivered boxes all around the UK
At Colourful Beginnings we have been delivering Treasure Boxes to families all around the country. These boxes are designed to support parents with premature or sick newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Colourful Beginnings aims to expand their reach help support more families during their NICU journey. If you would like to bring Colourful Beginnings to your local hospital or if you would like to request a box, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Terms and Conditions
- The baby must be in the NICU at the time of the request, and will be in NICU for at least two weeks.
- The contents of the Treasure Boxes are subject to availability and can change without prior notice.
- We are unable to send Treasure Boxes outside of the United Kingdom.
- We are unable to deliver on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank holidays.
- Due to the overwhelming number of requests for our vital support packages, delivery might take longer than expected.
- We ask that families let us know when Treasure Boxes have been received and to send us pictures or tag us in their posts on social media, so that we can show our sponsors exactly how their donation supported a family in NICU at a critical time.
